Redwood™ SD-3 tape storage systems

The StorageTek RedWood™ SD-3 Helical Tape Cartridge Subsystem is the first in a line of tape drives designed to take advantage of the remarkable capacity of our Black Watch SD-3 tape cartridges. It's based on proven helical scan recording technology to provide maximum reliability for both start/stop and streaming operations. It offers up to 50 GB of storage per cartridge, an 11.25 MB/second transfer rate (uncompressed) and 3:1 ICRC compression, for capacities up to 150 GB. It's also fully compatible with StorageTek's industry-leading silos and automation equipment.
